Our Dive Sites In Marsa AlamDiving in Marsa Alam area today is a charming and distinct experience due its sea beds that lie undisturbed by underwater mass tourism. Diving Ocean offers a diving program from shore : Marsa Shoona, Marsa Abu Dabbab, Marsa Murena, Marsa Egla, Marsa Assalaya and covers with its boats leaving from Marsa Galeb, El Naaba and Marsa Alam ports, over 75 km of these costal marks, thus offering at least 20 different remarkable Marsa Alam dive sites.



Marsa Abu Dabab (the bay)

Diving Marsa Alam - Abu Dabab

Abu Dabab, is one of the most beautiful Marsa Alam dive site, offers a great chance to encounter the Dugong and several large green turtles, as well as discover a very nice coral garden. This dive is made either from the shore or from the speed boat. It is offered as house reef dive for the guest of Sol Y Mar Abu Dabbab Hotel and as shore dive for all other dive programs and hotels.

In vicinity with Elphinstone, Abu Dabab Reef is comprised of seven external reefs and two internal ones. These sites provide all divers with the opportunity to explore numerous coral formations with interesting circular shapes and in the surrounding area there are some submerged peaks.

Sharm Abu Dabab is another great place for diving, adapted for advanced divers only as you must go through cave channels about 50 meter long in 6 to 10 m depth, one part holding to a rope. You can enter from shore or from the sea by boat ,beautiful light show in the channels. You exit in the open sea where you can encounter barracudas, turtles, black tip sharks.

Marsa Mubarak

Diving Marsa Alam - Marsa Mubarak

Marsa Mubarak dive site offers 5 different underwater experiences, most of them discovered by Diving Ocean. On both sides of the Marsa Mubarak bay there are massive coral gardens with hard corals formations; an ideal habitat for a variety of coral reef fish. The southern part of the bay, exposed to substantial currents, is often approached by big pelagic fish. Marsa Muburak is visited by Cetaceans living in the area that interact with humans sometimes. Marsa Mubarak, with its prevalent sea weed presence, is an ideal shelter for a rare mammal like the sea cow: a herbivore, with a curious aspect.

Marsa Shoona

Diving Marsa Alam - Marsa Shoona

Marsa Shoona offers 3 different dive sites: one closed; sheltered from currents, and two open reef dives. Large corals vary dramatically on the northern side of Marsa Shoona and the southern area is also abundantly covered with corals. The most attractive aspect of this Red Sea dive site is the spectacular quantity of Pelalgical fish that seek temporary refuge from open sea currents. It can be dived from shore or from boat leaving from Marsa Galeb.

Marsa Egla

About 30km south from Tulip or 15km from Abu Dabbab Hotels, this bay sloping down slowly to 25 meter also offers an easy dive with shore entry. Blue spotted stingrays, clown fishes in an Anemone garden, glass fishes around the pinacles can be seen there. With more chances, another dugong or maybe the Red Sea Walkman.


Samadai Dolphin House

Marsa Alam - Dolphin House Samadai

From Marsa Alam harbor the Southern dive site is very easy to get to: Samadai (50 minutes), also known as the Dolphin House, because of the presence of a large Spinner Dolphin population who spend part of the day resting in the area. This half-moon shaped reef, is famous for the beauty of its underwater caves located at the edge of the bay.

The shallow waters are easy to cross by divers who will be very impressed by colorful effects due to sun rays filtering trough the water. Close to these caves are twelve hard coral towers, populated The Shab Samadai reef spreads itself from North to South featuring two drift walls covered by soft corals.

Diving at Samadai Dolphin House is accessible for beginner divers as well as advanced divers, also marvelous for those who are simply enjoying snorkeling.

Elphinstone

Diving Marsa Alam - Elphinstone

The Elphinstone reef, the most famous Marsa Alam dive site, spreads itself from North to South featuring two drift walls covered by soft corals. There are two distinct plateau where you may occasionally encounter different species of sharks (Hammerheads, guitar sharks, oceanic white tip etc.), in addition to an enormous quantity of migrating and reef fish including: Barracudas, Surgeon Fish and Tuna. Due to strong currents in the area, diving in Marsa Alam at Elphinstone is not recommended for beginner divers.

From Naaba Bay Diving Ocean divers use a speed boat which reaches the most famous Marsa Alam dive site, Elphinstone, in less than thirty minutes.

House Reef Tulip from Jetty

If you are staying in Tulip Resort, you can dive from the jetty (700 m long, 2 m high) to discover an untouched house reef along the drop off of the Marsa Alam coast. Hard coral wall going down to 15 m, then sloping down slowly with sandy bottom. Glass fishes, morey eels, turtles can be seen on the North, on the souht many soft corals, groupers, surgeon fishes, napoleon fish. Also great for night dives with many nudibranches. because of currents and waves on the surface, this dive cannot be done at any time.

Marsa Assalaya

About 30km south from Tulip or 15km from Abu Dabbab Hotels, this shallow and protected bay is a nice dive site, starting from the shore. Depth averaging 5 to 25 meters, many hard coral pinnacles. Batfish, napoleon fish, crocodile fish, and if you are lucky you can find sea horse in the grass bottom!
